For Depression and Anxiety
Emotional self-regulation (ESR) could be viewed as the natural process underlying all human functioning—yet sometimes emotions can seem to work “against” us. ESR-focused therapies such as CBT and EMDR can help smooth things out by helping you work with (and not against) your emotions.
For Trauma-Related Problems
Memories are a powerful creation of your mind, and are critically important to everyone’s mental health and functioning. People create and manipulate memories to represent past and present experiences, learn from those experiences, and to form and strive for goals. Traumatic events are by definition uncontrollable, but fortunately that does not apply to associated traumatic memories. Active memory control during ESR and other trauma-focused interventions such as EMDR can help you access, control, and reconsolidate memories in a way that is maximally helpful to your personal growth and mental health.
